Red Bird and Green Pig Beanies

If you love the game, you’ll love this hat. I’m pretty sure everyone knows about the game, but for those who’s still blissfully unaware of its existence, it is a very simple, yet sickeningly addictive web game. It involves tossing cute birds at a bunch of green pigs, who have stolen their eggs. Once you start playing it's hard to stop and when there's cuteness, there's crafty potential.
My Boyfriend have completed nearly every level of this game and I thought I'll make one for him to wear... But noooo...he doesn't want to wear it, saying its too cute for him...not feeling appreciated, I'm still pretty proud of how the beanies turned out.

Yarn: Moda Vera, Marvel Plain 100% acrylic col1015, scraps of acrylic yarns for nose and eyes.
Needles: 3.25mm

Yarn: 100% wool, scraps of acrylic yarns for beak and eyes.
Needles: 4.5mm
Notes:  Worked the eyes in duplicate stitch.

Baby skull hat

Pattern:  baby skull (and crossbones) cap by Pippi Oviatt

Yarn: Patons Big Baby 8 ply wool
Needles: I used 4mm needles 40cm circular needles

The first try with the pattern, I bring the contrasting color hanging while I knit the rest of the round, then when I get back to the pattern in the next round, I bring the contrasting color back a cross the work and knit the pattern.  With this method i found it really messy with the finish product and it didn't look nice at all.

The second try I tie knots when I change color yarn, and I found this method faster and it looked alot nicer than the first try.

Viking Hat

Viking knitted hat for the toughest baby...!!

Pattern: Viking hat designed by Becky Veverka of Chile Con Yarne  

Yarn: 100% alpaca 8ply for wood colour, 80% 20% lamp wool 8ply for metal colour.

Needles: I used 4mm needles instead of the 4.5mm as suggested

Notes:  I made the braids optional by making a loop at the top of the braids and attached it to a button on the hat.

Cupcake hat

  

Wearable Cupcake hat.....Too cute to be edible.

Yarn: 100% alpaca 8ply for ribbed colour, Shephead baby wool merino 8ply for frosting.

Needles: I used 4mm needles instead of the 4.5mm as suggested

Notes:  I found the pattern too big to fit for babies, i would suggest casting on 48 for a baby size hat.

Ribbed colour for 1. 1/2".

Knit frosting color for 4" then start decreasing.

I also sewed on some different colour yarns for the sprinkles instead of using beads so no worries of them coming loose as a bead can.

It took a while for me to figure out how to make the nubble.  I found a useful tutorial from TheArtsyfartsy123.  All you need to do is cast on extra stitches by knitting into the stitch and placing the loop back on the left needle.  Then bind off the required number of stitches to create the nubble.
