Sorry for the delay but I have finally finished the
pattern. This pattern is for the Red Bird
who is the mascot of the game, although he may not have a special ability like
the other, but he’s certainly the cutest of all. The pattern
hasn't been tested yet as I have misplaced my notes when I knitted the first
bird so please tell me if you find any mistakes. Hope you guys enjoy
knitting him along with the pig.
As this is a free pattern, pattern is
for personal use only and may not be sold, photocopied or copied electronically
or distributed in any way. Please don't sell the toy you've made,
and please provide credit for the design of the pattern to myself (Knitterbees).

Can u please explain why it doesn't work? thanks
ReplyDeleteI clicked on the chart to print a larger size and nothing shows up. Thanks for posting the pattern!
ReplyDeleteit should work...my friend tested it and it shows a larger size chart.
ReplyDeleteI just checked it using Google Chrome and it worked. Thanks for the pattern! LUV angry birds!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to start on these!!! Are you planning on doing the other birds as well? I see a pic for the yellow...just hoping...=)
ReplyDeleteHi muddypaws, i'm in the middle of writting up the yellow birds right now, but i've been very bz at work so it has been slow. i'm not planning to do the other birds as i want to start doing some of my own design. But i think if you want to do the other birds, you can always follow the basic shape, beak, eyes and feather of the red bird, and just alter the colour for the main body. hope this helps. :)
ReplyDeletecan anyone convert this to crochet?
ReplyDeleteIf you go on Ravelry.com they have a bunch of crochet ones.
ReplyDeletebetween row 63 and 63 is says "start" can you explain that? Thank you
ReplyDeleteRow 63(MC): (k2tog, k1) Repeat to the end of the round. 24st
ReplyDeleteStart
Row 64(MC): knit
Sorry I meant row 63 and 64.
hi, the mistake has been removed, thanks.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for posting this!! My neiphew is four and absolutely loves angry birds. I'm going to start on this one now:) thank you again!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute I have already started one. I have run into a snag. What do you do with the yarn you are not using after you change colors? I know this will be stuffed and the inside won't show, but I am getting some funny pulling or way too loose stitches. Do you have any tips?
ReplyDeletehi,
ReplyDeleteI cut the yarn on every round and knotted it as i'm goin to end up stuffing it inside anyway. i know its bad but my stitch wouldn't be loose as you have said.
thanks
yeah... wasting more time with angry birds!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but I am having difficulty understanding how to incorporate the eyes. The duplicate stitch?
ReplyDeleteCan the bird be done with two needles instead of the circular needle?
ReplyDeleteHelp! I can't figure out how to do the eyes either. Can someone explain please? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteFor the eyes and eyebrows, use a yarn needle & follow the diagram as if doing a cross-stitch embroidery. Stitch in the same direction as the knit stiches\/.
ReplyDeleteI've never knitted on a circular kneedle before, but I'm having trouble with the stitches being too tight by the end, I'm up to row 5 and they won't even move along the needle, what am I doing wrong? Everything I've read about circular says work should be about the same size as needle?
ReplyDeleteJust finished an angry bird for my son and he loves it! Thanks so much for the pattern
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm almost done the red bird for my hubby, but I'm having some issues with the eyes. Does anyone know of a great learning video for doing cross-stitch embroidery? Many thanks for the pattern. I'm learning all sorts of different stitches!
ReplyDeleteI can't figure out how to do the eyes! Anybody have any tips?
ReplyDeleteThe pattern calls for circular needles, which I unfortunately lack. Can anyone tell me an alternative to this?
ReplyDeleteThanks. :)
instead of using circular needles, you can use double point needles to knit in the round as well.
ReplyDeleteHow big is the finished bird?
ReplyDeleteUse double-pointed needles for the beginning and end when the project becomes too small for circulars. Or just use DPNs for the whole thing. I prefer double-pointed needles over circular anyway!
ReplyDeleteAre the eyes that you used the kind that stay in place with washers? What size of eyes did you use? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat pattern. Has anyone tried sizing it down to make a holiday ornament?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I'm doing this right. In the Head @ Row 8, it starts with red and ends with red, with white in the middle. Are you using intarsia methods to knit the multiple colors, or are you using new strands of yarn for the 2 sides of red? Trying to instruct my son, but it's not clear to me.
ReplyDeleteWish there was a video for the first few rows as I am a beginner and finding it hard to use circular needles.I will just keep trying :)
ReplyDeletewhat alternative yarn can i use? thanks
ReplyDeleteI've used drops karisma which is 100% pure wool, feels quite sturdy and is fairly cheap. Colours are nice too. It knits with a 3.5-4mm needle which knits a bigger item. I'm knitting mine as a door stop so wanted a bigger size :-)
ReplyDeleteit's a little difficult for me to handle that, but I have a buy one from toyswill.com
ReplyDeleteI have just started my toy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing It was really fun knitting the bird! You can see the result here http://www.jumbojetje.nl/Blog/angry-birds-breien-2
