Toddler boy neckwarmer

First knitting project after having Thomas.  After 2 years of non stop nappy changing and running around like a headless chicken i finally had the courage to pick up my knitting needles and knit.  Best feeling ever.  Winter is coming here in NZ so wanted to knit a scarf for Tom for our playground trips.  I must say its hard to design a scarf for boys when you don't want the extra length to get caught while they are running around but also something that will stay on their neck while also looking great.  So I've come up with something simple that will go with most outfits and also practical for my active toddler.

Materials:
1.      8 ply weight wool or acrylic.
2.      4mm needles
3.      Yarn needle

Instructions
Cast on 28 stitches
Row 1-4: k27, sl
Row 5: k5, bo2, k14, bo2,k4, sl (I used medium size buttons so if you are using bigger or smaller buttons simply bind off less or more as require)
Row 6: k5, co2, k14, co2, k4,sl (i used medium size buttons so if you are using bigger or smaller buttons simply  cast on less or more as require)
Row 7-: k27,sl  (Knit to desire length (I needed till I reached 350mm)) bo.

Happy knitting
